NMH - Roaming Catholicism
Published 11:57 on 11 Sep 2019
On Saturday 12 October at 7.15pm, professional vocal
ensemble NMH return to Chichester Cathedral with “Roaming Catholicism: the
musical turbulence of the Tudor dynasty.”
Adapted from a first performance in Christchurch, New
Zealand, NMH explore the rich musical tapestry left behind by the turbulence of
the Tudor age. Weaving Byrd’s anguished Ave Verum with Tallis’ plaintive If ye
love me, and inspiring music by Cornysh, Taverner, Tallis and Gibbons, we hear
how the chaos of the English Reformation gave rise to the enduring masterpieces
of the English Renaissance.
Tickets: Lady Chapel – £15, Ante-Chapel – £10, limited view
- £5. Click Visit the Cathedral shop or website for tickets.
