General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into place in May 2018. Experts from Irwin Mitchell LLP will guide you through what this reform means for your business, looking not only at your compliance obligations but also at how good data governance can help save and make your business money in the future.

Whilst this is European Union legislation, a bill is currently making its way through UK Parliament to implement the GDPR into domestic lawTherefore, if you have put your compliance programme on hold following the Brexit referendum, now is the time to restart it.

Key topics for discussion will include

  • Compulsory notification of data breaches
  • Refreshing consents
  • Reviewing privacy policies to ensure they are sufficiently transparent
  • The right to be forgotten
  • Increased subject access rights
  • Fines

Whilst a one size fits all approach doesn’t work with GDPR, we’ll draw on our 20 years’ experience of advising on data protection matters to look at the key actions businesses need to take and how to navigate the pathway to compliance.

Our cancellation policy is that if a cancellation is made 7 days or more before the event, a refund will be given minus a £5 admin charge. If a cancellation is made within 7 days of the event, or you do not attend there is no refund.
